the outsiders (rough draft)

S.E. Hinton’s book, the outsiders takes place in 1966 and is about Pony boy and his life. One night Pony boy and Johnny got in a fight with a group of drunk Sock. They survive after stabbing Bob who was drowning Pony boy. Now, they are on run from the polices. This ties its way into the theme, violence is not the answer.

 

From the very beginning of the story, we see that violent actions lead to poor outcomes. Ponyboy and Johnny go on a walk to collect their thoughts. But, a group of Socs wandered over to them. The Socs recently just got out of a pub and was looking for a fight. They go for Ponyboy And try to drown him. But, Johnny stabs Bob who trying to drown Ponyboy and kills Bob.

 

In the middle of story, due to the stabbing, Ponyboy and Johnny  go into hiding. They hide in abandon church. But, the church burns down due to  one of the cancer stick. They find out that kids got in the church. So,  Ponyboy and Johnny think that they should save the kids. They felt bad for what they did. The stabbing made they feel guilty for their actions. Johnny suffer injuries due to the fire.

 

Near the end of the book, Johnny dies due to his injuries
